There are a variety of ways you can order firewood from us. You can fill out our quote form or you can contact us by phone & email. Payments can be made direct or via bank transfer.
Delivery in Timaru is free. Some non-urban area may incur a delivery fee. Please get in touch with us to ask about your options. In most cases we will contact you 1-2 days prior to the delivery to let you know the time we’ll be delivering the firewood.

DEY’S FIREWOOD tipper trucks have up to a 6 cubic metre capacity, minimum order is 5 cubic metres. We can also cut your firewood to a length & size to suit your needs.
We will always try to deliver your firewood where you would like it placed, however there are instances where we may be unable to. This might be due to the drive being too steep, overhead obstructions such as power lines, poor access to the driveway. In these instances we will drop the firewood as close to where you want it as we can. We will not risk a delivery that could result in any form of damage to the driveway or from one of our trucks getting stuck.
It is best to keep your firewood under cover in a dry, well ventilated area, and away from exposed elements such as wind and rain. Hardwood won’t retain water if it gets wet, whereas pine should be stored under cover if possible.
During winter in Timaru the average house will use between 8-10 cubic metres of firewood. We recommend using a mixture of pine & hardwood to heat your home as efficiently as possible.
If so you will need more firewood than a house that has a heatpump installed for example. Depending on the layout of your house, it can also benefit from having a HRV or DVS heat transfer system to circulate the heat throughout the whole house.
A well insulated home requires less firewood to heat as it will retain the heat for longer, especially combined with double glazed windows. Also make sure to keep the chimney swept to help the fire place burn more efficiently.
It is best to order your firewood as early as possible to allow the wood to season and dry properly for clean burning in the winter months.
